Manual / offline transfer
A fallback payment method where you collect and verify payment yourself, with no gateway involved.
On this page
Manual transfer is a fallback payment method any school, in any country, can turn on — no gateway account required. It's a good fit if you haven't set up a real gateway yet, or you'd rather collect payment directly into your own bank account, FPS, or DuitNow. Go to School settings → Payments, click "Add payment method", choose "Manual bank transfer", fill in your transfer instructions in step 2 (for example your bank name, account number and account holder name, and asking buyers to put the order number in the reference), then switch on "Offer at checkout" in step 3 — buyers can then choose it at checkout.
How buyers pay
After choosing manual transfer, the buyer sees your instructions and transfers the money themselves. By default they come back and upload a screenshot as proof, and can fill in a reference/transaction number to help you match it against your bank statement. You can turn off "Require buyers to upload payment proof" in step 3 of the manual transfer panel so the buyer's flow ends right after they transfer, and you confirm the order yourself later by checking your own bank records — switching this toggle doesn't change any order that was already created, since each order remembers the setting as it was at the moment it was placed.
How you verify payment
On the Orders page, a manual-transfer order awaiting review shows the buyer's uploaded proof, reference number and upload time, plus a duplicate warning if the same proof image was already used on another order. Confirming grants course access and sends a receipt automatically; rejecting notifies the buyer and lets them re-upload.
Expiry and cancellation
If the buyer doesn't finish the flow above within 72 hours (uploading proof, or — in proof-optional mode — you confirming it), the order is automatically canceled and the buyer is notified. Either the buyer or you can also cancel a pending order yourself at any time before it's confirmed — canceling an order that already has proof uploaded doesn't trigger an automatic refund, so if the buyer really did transfer the money, sort out a refund with them directly before canceling.
Payment arrives after the order was cancelled
If an order was already cancelled (by the 72-hour expiry, or by you) and you later find the buyer's transfer did arrive, open that cancelled manual-transfer order on the Orders page and click "Payment received after all". The order is restored, the course is unlocked, a receipt is sent, and any cancelled shipment goes back to pending. No payment proof is required here, since you're the one confirming the money arrived.
