Account deletion and data export
How self-service deletion works, and why owners are handled differently.

Data export
Under your account menu (bottom of the sidebar; the avatar in the top bar on mobile) → Instructor profile → Danger zone, you can export your own account data at any time.
Deleting your account
- If you're the sole owner of a school, self-deletion is blocked — a school always needs at least one owner. Transfer or resolve ownership first.
- If you're an instructor (not an owner) requesting deletion, your request goes to your school's owner for approval first, rather than deleting immediately. This matches how most course platforms handle team-member departures. You can withdraw the request yourself at any time before it's decided, and your account keeps working normally while it's pending.
- Deletion anonymizes your account rather than hard-deleting every record — your jurisdiction's tax law requires order/transaction records to be kept, so they're retained for 7 years (this matches, for example, Malaysia's LHDN requirement).
